Blessed everywhere mentioned, referred to as worth reading Phil Rickman's Merrily Watkins is set to a single, widowed and chain smoking and cursing frequently young Anglican pastor who murders enlightens with a shot of supersensible.
thousands of Britons can not be wrong - Or?
Read I have the first volume of the series
fruit of sin by Phil Rickman
apple trees determined in Ledwardine, a small town in the west of England, not just the village scene in the form of an ancient orchard directly behind the church, but pre
gene otherwise life and history of the place. In this supposed postcard idyll, the young Merrily Watkins moves with her teenage daughter to a place to stand as Parish representative. They had expected resistance, because it fits "so not at all as a female Pastor in the worldview of the tradition-conscious population, but what it finds beyond all fears and fear of failure. Even before its official inauguration, it comes at a night party in the orchard into a bizarre death which forms the first of a series of mysterious incidents. Merrily, which since the death of her husband's nightmares plague is, after moving into the old rectory haunted by visions of real and apparently her daughter begins to develop psychic abilities. All characters and dark forebodings seem to be confirmed, when suddenly a girl from the village disappears without a trace. I felt myself entertained while reading, the case was well designed, not to turned off, the supernatural was still limited, but it did not tell me now so carried away that I would read all the others. Especially so, because I've noticed when browsing, that the supernatural is now to be a little stronger, because Marrily Watkins is now appointed exorcist in their diocese.
Oh no, you read without me .... I'm usually a fan of Häkelkrimis.
